Every Student... Every Heart... Every Mind... Wow Grade 4! The first week back after Carnival has been jammed packed with learning in our different content areas. Take the time to review with your parents the learning that has taken place and reflect once again on the following questions:
- In what ways have you demonstrated intellectual curiosity, perseverance, respect, integrity and kindness?
- How have your actions inspired, challenged and/or helped others to succeed?

Writing across content areas... I wonder Grade 4, in what ways have we been using what we know about opinion writing to support our writing in Reading, Social Studies, Science and Math?
Consider the following questions as you reflect on your writing across content areas:
- What do you notice about the writing that is similar? What makes you say that?
- What tools do we have that can support our writing across content areas?
- I wonder, are you using your writing app every time we write?
- What makes the writing app important to our learning?

Good writers always EDIT their work... During Writer's Workshop, we have been working on our writing, but this time, using the different lenses of editing. Review the Editing Checklist below. Connect each editing lens to your writing app.

Next steps... Grade 4, this week we will look closely at our opinion essays and use our editing checklist to carefully review our writing for spelling, sense and grammar, and punctuation and capitalization.

Grade 4, entrepreneurs in the making... Grade 4, remember to use your time wisely during our Marketplace Activity. This week during Social Studies, we will research the cost of materials needed to create your product based on the data collected from your market research surveys.
For homework, you are expected to meet with your group to make advertisements, purchase and organize the materials needed to create your product, as well as, make your product together.
Evidence of the group work that takes place outside of school is required!

Grade 4 is Carnival... Grade 4, we strengthened our sense of community during our LS Carnival celebrations! Thank you for your participation, your enthusiasm is greatly appreciated!
Grade 4 is STEAM! Grade 4, we will continue with STEAM after we have finished the Marketplace Activity. Stay tuned for information regarding our next STEAM challenge, Straw Bridge Building!
