The Eagle Way

As you read last week, The Eagle Way is a tool we are using throughout the entire Lower School to create  a strong community and to practice skills that help each child develop Graded’s core values.  Our mantra reminds us of our mission to Inspire, Challenge, and Succeed.  It also reminds us to always be safe, respectful, and responsible.  Soon, you will begin to see that The Eagle Way is a framework that enables us to more clearly define expected behaviors in the different areas of our school.  Click here to enlarge the image below and learn how students demonstrate The Eagle Way in their classrooms.

The LS Library

Please stop by the LS Library tomorrow (Tuesday) to celebrate our new books. More are coming, but over 600 books arrived on Friday, and all of the students are getting a chance to preview the new offerings. So many great additions!!

Lower School Open House

Our Lower School Open House will take place next Thursday, August 31st, from 6:00-9:00pm. We have organized the Open House evening into two sessions. Both sessions will include the same information, so it is only necessary to attend one session for each child. The schedule with locations is below:

Session One

6:00 to 6:15pm	Opening Session in the Auditorium
6:20 to 7:00pm	Pre-Primary Parents: Auditorium First Grade Parents: Room K3 Second Grade Parents: LS Art Room Third Grade Parents: LS Music Room Fourth Grade Parents: Room E12 Fifth Grade Parents: Rooms E6 and E7 (Ms. Patrick and Ms. Kitto’s Classrooms) ELL Parents: ELL Office

Session Two

7:00 to 7:15pm**	Opening Session in the Auditorium

**The information for the Opening Session in the Auditorium will be repeated; parents only need to attend one Opening Session.

Please join us in the Student Center to have a treat and meet someone new!

Some other important information:

• Portuguese teachers will be present at the grade-level presentations.  
• Specialist teachers (Art, Music, and PE) are available to chat with you in the Student Center from 6:15 until 9:00pm. Our Librarian will be available in the Lower School Library.

• Children are also welcome to come to the Lower School Library while parents attend the sessions. The LS Library will open at 5:45pm and close at 8:30pm.
