MATH:
In math, we will continue working on multiplication and division concepts. Students will continue to develop strategies to divide and multiply whole numbers.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

This is an exciting time for third graders. Students are engaged in reading to learn and are excited to use what they are learning for application activities. Our Changemaker unit is opening up opportunities to read about inspiring people both past and present. In addition, students are exploring the power of words by using their voice to express opinions in writing. We are happy to welcome Ms. Gregory back into the classroom to support our learning.

SOCIAL STUDIES:
This week students will begin studying biographies. Students will identify a person who is a changemaker and provide reasons with evidence.  The unit will tie together our work in reading and writing.  Students will be reading biographies and identifying what make this person a changemaker.  Students will then write a persuasive piece with a thesis statement and reasons with evidence. Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 7th for the 3rd grade biography presentations. Presentations will begin at the following times:
Mr. Ro 12:30 pm
Mr. Barkdoll 1:00 pm
Ms. Davis 1:20 pm
Ms. Kullikowsky 1:20 pm

Science:
In Science students have concluded their Physics of Sound unit. Thank you to all the parents that helped throughout the unit and donated materials to help construct percussion, wind and string instruments.
