This week in 2nd Grade...
Reading- Students have really been enjoying reading books in the series! They`ve been discussing similarities and differences in their star characters that they finding across the series as well lessons they are learning!
Writing- We have been writing poems with many different strategies: that have meaning, show a mood, precise words, and how different they are and look from writing narratives!
Math- This week we will wrap up Unit 10 were we learned about money:reading and writing in dollar-and-cents notation, counting dollars and cents and finding change in money word problems and recognizing place value (ten thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens and ones digits).
Social Studies- Last week, second graders had an interesting experience on our Kidzania field trip. They got a chance to try different jobs and services, practice organizing their budget and learning about economy in a community!
