Vacation Homework

Dear 5th-Grade Families,

It has been a wonderful semester! As you prepare for the holidays, consider the following ideas for continuing learning at home, or on the road as you travel!

Reading: Please read every day!  You may choose to join the "LS Reads" initiative by reading Flora & Ulysses, which is available for free on Tumblebooks.com (Username: Graded, password: books) We've enjoyed reading Chapter 1 in class together!
If you need some book recommendations while on break, here is a great recommended book list.

Ongoing math practice can help support your child in the upcoming trimester. If your child will be taking the February Unit 2 retake the following math concepts will be on the test:
  • Converting percents to decimals and fractions
  • Converting fractions to decimals
  • Finding the fraction of sets
  • Multiplying and adding fractions
  • Order of operations
  • Dividing and multiplying decimals
  • Finding landmarks in data
  • Comparing fractions
The following are some good sites to support your child's progress:
Khan Academy
Mathletics
Xtra Math
IXL
