Grade 5's Logging Their Reading on Biblionasium

Access Your Library Wherever You Are!

You may have noticed flyers about the new LS Library website. All of our resources have been organized in one place, along with login information, to make life easier for our students, parents, and staff. Please bookmark this site at home and explore what's available.

One thing 4th and 5th graders will be using is Biblionasium. This is very much like Goodreads for adults, in that it's an online platform for students to record what they're reading and to share recommendations with friends. Each student creates a personal bookshelf of what they are reading, have read, and want to read. They can also write reviews and send a message recommending a title to friends. They will be logging their titles, pages, and time read, which will be visible to their teachers. Teachers can set reading challenges for students, as well.

To reach Biblionasium, go to the LS Library site linked above. On the homepage, you'll see a button to "Access Follett Destiny." (There is also a link for getting the app to use on iPads, Kindle Fires, smartphones, etc.) There's a document next to it with screenshots showing how to log into Destiny. Once your child has logged in using his or her Graded Gmail username and password, the screen should say, "Welcome, _________." The drop-down menu on the top left of the screen will now include Biblionasium, and will also let them look at what books they have checked out. When they click Biblionasium, they will already be logged in as themselves and can start adding books or logging their reading.
