Grade 4, practice your word work activities at home... Use the suggestions below to make your word work process meaningful.
Suggestions for word work at home:
- Print a copy of the word work activities menu and my words template to keep at home; add your words to the my words template
- Bring your word work notebook home to practice, but please be sure to bring it back to school the following day (keep it in your take home folder)
- Repeat the word work activities with ALL your words, including old word lists
- Print a copy of the dictionary skills template to complete the dictionary activity
- Use the editing checklist to edit your writing when practicing the sentences activity
- Furthermore, you can create an additional word list using interesting vocabulary from your just right reading books
- Practice only the word work activities we have learned in class

Trimester 2 Student Led Conferences... Students and Parents made their thinking visible during our SLC's. Take a look the following sentence-phrase-words (SPWs) and consider the following questions:
- In what ways do the sentences, phrases and/or words show a deeper understanding of how each student learns?
- What does each SPW teach us about the students and parents?
- What connections could you make to each of the different SPWs?
Grade 4 is EAGER to inspire during our SLCs... Students and parents celebrate the growth in learning that took place during Trimester 2!
Grade 4 is STEAM! Grade 4, our next STEAM challenge, Straw Bridge Building, will start the week of April 8!
Review the information on our STEAM presentation and ask yourself the following questions:
- In what ways could I connect STEAM to The Eagle Way?
- Can I identify specific actions that help us build our classroom community?
- In what ways could my participation in STEAM help me grow as a learner?
