Puberty Lessons for Grade 4

Dear Families:

Puberty is an inevitable phase which everyone goes through as they transition between child and adult. It is a time of many changes both physically and emotionally. It's a period of life filled with new excitement and new challenges.

Beginning in May, the grade 4 students will be learning about the physical, social, and emotional changes related to puberty. We will also be discussing other topics such as personal hygiene, healthy habits (nutrition, rest, and exercise) and peer pressure.

The curriculum used is developed in Canada by the Ministry of Education and is developmentally appropriate for your child's age and grade. Depending on the lesson, boys and girls will either be learning together or by separate sex. The people facilitating these lessons will be Mr. Boisjoli, Ms. Bobbie, and Ms. Heidi.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these lessons or would like to know more about the material that will be covered in class, please contact me via email at heidi.pierce@graded.br or by phone.

Be well.
