SCIENCE:
In science, students have learned about the processes that affect rocks over time. These include heat, pressure, weathering, erosion and compaction. Below is a fun link for students to explore how rocks can change over time.
MATH:
Language Arts:
Students will continue developing strategies to both understand and write non-fiction stories. They have learned to write strong table of contents by laying out a logical structure, by creating chapters and not repeating information.
Students have also learned to stop, think and jot down information based on prompts: "I just learned… I wonder… I'm picturing… This part was mostly about.. From reading this, I could teach..." They have also learned to identify different ways writers elaborate in different ways by using: quotations, anecdotes, observations, vocabulary words, lists, labels and different punctuation.
We encourage you to remind your child to access Spelling City at home to practice their spelling word lists.
