Language Arts:
In Reader's Workshop: Continue the Book Clubs! Students will have opportunities to read book series for a character study! Some suggestions for the Reading Record Homework are: "The Boxcar Children", "Houndsley and Catina", " Magic Tree House", "Mercy Watson", "Frog and Toad", "Amber Brown Books", "Ivy+Bean", "Arthur Books", "Cam Jansen". The library has a varied of these titles! Have fun checking books with your child!
In Writer's Workshop, On-Demand Post Test this week! Information Writing! Students were asked to bring more information from home on a topic that they are expert on. We will be publishing our teaching information books this week!
Social Studies: Who Provides Services in a Community?
Math: Continuation of Unit 9/ Measurement! Activities that will be involved in this unit are: find the length of an object, solve perimeter questions, find which cylinder holds more, find the area and perimeter of various designs and, determine how many pennies weigh one ounce! Students will be comparing and contrasting the U.S. Customary System with the Metric System.
Good problem solvers use a variety of strategies, including the following:*Draw a picture, *Act out the problem, *Make a table, chart, or list, * Look for a pattern, *Try a simpler version of the problem, or * Make an estimate and try it out!
