Class of 2026

2nd Grade News from November 23-26 

Language Arts:

We have continued to work on strong retells as we read our books. We can retell by focusing on beginning, middle, and end; feelings; setting; or problem and solution. All make strong retells!

In writing we are writing book nominations for the best books we've read so far in 2nd grade! They are similar to the opinion letters we have written, but we are now focusing on being even more convincing and using strong opinions that will make others want to read the book.

Math:

We are finishing up with our Geometry unit looking more in depth and symmetry and reviewing line segments, parallel lines, and 2D and 3D shapes.

Social Studies:

We have continued learning about maps and the different uses and kinds of maps that exist.  We drew a map of our playground and used a grid and map key to find places on the map.
